LIFESTYLE photography
Hi, my name is
Dorja
(But you can call me Dory)
When I was 14, I saved up for my first camera and begged my dad to drive me to the shop to buy it. I spent hours wandering my neighbourhood in Croatia, photographing flowers and plants — fascinated by the colours, the light, and the way ordinary things could look magical through a lens.
These days my focus is people and those moments that happen between the poses—the real laughter, the quiet glances, the beautiful ordinary, so when you see your gallery, you fall in love with your own story. Family and connection mean everything to me, and I love preserving those fleeting moments that are often overlooked.
I can't pose to save my life, which turned out to be my secret weapon. I've learned that the best photos happen when people forget they're supposed to be posing at all.
My style leans toward natural light, soft golden tones, and a gentle retro feel. I like photographs that feel real — warm, nostalgic, and unposed — the kind that make you smile years later.
I now live in Scotland with my husband and our two dogs, Evie and Lumi. Away from the camera, I'm usually fuelled by coffee, converting my van Twinkie, or sneaking in a game of tennis.
Confession: my Kindle is probably my most-used item. I'm a total fantasy novel nerd, and if I'm not editing photos, there's a good chance I'm lost in another world with a cup of coffee in hand. Maybe that's why I love photography so much - real life stories can feel just as magical as the ones I read about.
